Alaska Educational Curriculums (Mat-Su)

Unique educational programs for grades 1-12 developed for homeschooling families and youth organizations. Some upcoming programs include College Sports Prep, Inspired Young Artist, Graphic Design / Anime, Comic Books & Sketch, Ninja Training, and more! Online and in-person classes available.

Alaska Homeschool Classes (Anchorage)

We are a collective of private instructors offering a variety of classes to meet the needs of homeschooled students. Classes in both core and enrichment subjects are available for grades K- 2. All instructors are approved vendors of  the  Anchorage School District, and most offer direct-billing to many of Alaska’s state-funded homeschool programs. 

Alaska Outdoor Ventures (Interior)

Alaska Outdoor Venture is a Catholic homeschool group in the Interior for new millenial and younger mothers who are homeschooling for the first time and looking for social extracurricular activities for their children. AOV strives to provide activities involving the outdoors, life and trade skills, health, fitness and reliance. Some examples of planned activities include camping, backpacking, wilderness survival, swimming, exploring nature, plant identification, farming, rock climbing, canoeing, hunting, archery, crafting, trapping, skiing, and carpentry.

APHEA Field Trips & Activities (Statewide)

The Alaska Private and Home Educators Association is a membership-based coalition of parents and others who have banded together for the furtherance of educational excellence through alternatives to the government-operated public schools.

ASL Concepts (Anchorage)

ASL Concepts is committed to providing excellent curriculum materials and instruction as well as advocacy to the field of American Sign Language. It is our goal to welcome you to the wonderful world of ASL and Deaf Culture!

BEAR (Beyond Education Anchorage Region) Co-op (Anchorage)

We are a group of homeschool families in the Anchorage area. We meet together once a week to teach our children according to their interests. We each use our own expertise and experience to create a cooperative learning environment.

Cooking Classes with Living Proof Alaska (Chugiak)

Instructor Kathe Kale opens her home to offer Cooking Classes beginning mid August for ages 4-12. Classes are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3pm-4:15pm in Chugiak. The cost is $90/per 6 week session. Kathe been teaching for 8 years. She is currently offering a Harvest series where students grind grain and use healthy ingredients / discuss nutrition.

Fairbanks Children’s Museum Classes

Current classes include: Art Masters (ages 6-9), Art of Alaska (ages 6-9), Cool Chemistry (ages 5-8), All About Birds (ages 6-9), Weather Science (ages 5-7) & Geography of Alaska (ages 7-9). Our staff is here to provide themed hands-on lessons at the Museum! Class sizes are limited, facilities are clean, the museum remains closed to the public, and COVID-19 precautions are taken. 

Faith Homeschool Connection (Anchorage)

Faith Homeschool Connection, a ministry of Faith Christian Community, is designed to support and encourage homeschooling families. Our vision is to see homeschool moms come together to share their gifts, talents and resources to support and encourage one another as we educate our children at home. Homeschool PE at Harry J. McDonald Center (Eagle River)

Classes meet Mondays & Wednesdays at the McDonald Center. Options currently available for 2nd-4th grade 1:00-2:00pm and 5th-8th grade 11:45am-12:45pm.

Kellogg Field School (Palmer)

An environmental education homeschool program that teaches science, culture & community. Kellogg FIELD School provides home-schooled children with an interdisciplinary, community-centered, social experience through environmental education. Environmental education is more than just science; it combines all elements of natural and cultural history with critical thinking and problem-solving skills. FIELD School is an outdoor-based enrichment program. While it does not take the place of a formal school, the lessons we design are integrated with AK state standards.

Lighthouse Learning (Anchorage)

Small group courses focused on active learning for home school students. Lighthouse Learning strives to equip students with the skills, ideas, and techniques necessary to succeed in their educational pursuits. 

Matanuska River Christian Homeschool Co-op (Valley)

This is a group for Christian homeschooling families in the Mat-Su Valley, Alaska. Our goals are to build community and support for our mutual faith, #momlife, and homeschooling journeys; and fun, friendship and learning for our children!

Moose Creek Baptist Church Co-op (Fairbanks/North Pole)

Moose Creek Baptist Church desires to support those who choose to disciple their children through home education, therefore the primary objective of MCBC Homeschool Co-op is to provide a Christ-centered learning environment for academic and enrichment activities. This is an all-volunteer co-op. The co-op meets every week throughout the academic year. Co-op is for children ages 5-18 (grades K-12) with nursery care/preschool activities available for younger siblings ages 0-4.

Pony Parties and Friends Learning Farm (Palmer)

The Alaska Kinder Garden (Anchorage)

The Alaska Kinder Garden is a great place for your kindergarten student! We meet one day a week for four hours. Each hour is full of exploration, wonderful children’s literature, theme based projects, hands on science experiences, learning and fun. We are an enrichment program, meaning we do not focus on core academics but instead are doing the hands on, often messy projects and experiments that are easy to get over looked in a busy home school day.

The Competitive Edge (Anchorage)

Schooling Option During Covid-19 courtesy of 4 Alaska State Certified Teachers & 3 Alaska State Certified Principals. Full day instruction for 3rd-6th grade students Monday through Friday at APU South Atwood Building. 10 students max per grade level. Options include 2 days a week, 3 days a week and 5 days a week. Students will work on schoolwork assigned from their school district or schoolwork aligned with the Alaska State Education Standards, plus learn valuable other skills in personal social and career development! The Joy of Learning Co-op (Anchorage)

The Joy of Learning, an Alaska Homeschool co-op, is a place where families can gather together in community one half-day per week. It is a place to pursue relationships and wisdom through academics.
